Al Truman

Al Truman is the Director of the Raccoon City Broadcasting Network. He was, like many figures within Raccoon City affiliated with Umbrella, albeit through his network that Umbrella would use to sell its products worldwide.

As the events of the Raccoon City Incident began to unfold Al was pressurised by Umbrella to keep the cameras rolling with Umbrella looking to use the studio to advertise its latest heal patches.

Due to Al’s journalistic nature, by 25 September he had begun to suspect Umbrella of being behind the unfolding cannibal disease. He used some connections he had to source anti-viral patches which he hid in his office.

It is unclear if Umbrella were aware of his investigations, but they continued to insist on using the building with a live studio audience. On 26th September 1998 the audience arrived and Al takes to the stage with a representative from Umbrella to talk about the medicinal patches. However, Al takes this opportunity to publicly declare what he has found out and aims the blame and the violence within the city at Umbrella’s door. He blames Umbrella for the alleged Zombies.

As Al speaks, the lights suddenly go out. Al activates his lighter so he can continue, but as he does, hidden bombs explode under stage releasing the T-Virus into the auditorium. Suddenly, a hoard of zombies burst into the room and begin to attack. Al is bitten during this raid and is escorted off stage by R.C.B.N staff. It can assumed that this and the sudden arrival of the U.B.C.S herald the end of the Director, but in his final minutes, Al is able to transmit a clue to the shocked audience members about the anti-viral patches that he had sourced to their participation tablets that had been handed out when they arrived the studio.
