STORY:

Do you remember when an entire town was wiped out by the “T-virus” developed by Umbrella Pharmaceuticals? And did you know that even after that, Umbrella continued developing bioweapons in complete secrecy? That’s right—this incident was bound to happen.

My name is Bruce. Bruce McGivern. I’m a U.S. intelligence agent… in other words, a spy.

Three days ago, the “T-virus” was stolen from a secure storage vault at Umbrella’s Paris research facility. Then yesterday, out on the Atlantic Ocean, a large cruise ship carrying VIPs from around the world was hijacked. Coincidentally, it was a vessel owned by Umbrella.

This must be the work of someone with a serious grudge against them. To stop whatever they’re planning, I’ve begun operating alone …Not realising it was a trap.

CHARACTER:

Bruce McGivern (Age 27)

An operative with the U.S. Strategic Command (U.S. STRATCOM), assigned to a special pursuit and investigation team targeting Umbrella. He has a strong sense of justice and can be reckless—sometimes even risking his own life without hesitation. If a case doesn’t seem interesting or falls outside his immediate responsibility, he tends to ignore it, which often earns him reprimands from his superiors. That said, he’s the kind of person who would rush into a burning building before the firefighters even arrive—his determination and guts are second to none. He has a tendency to act impulsively, but when it comes to his work, he’s an elite, top-class professional.

Fong Ling (Age 25)

An operative belonging to China’s Ministry of State Security. Shortly after she was born, her parents died, and she was taken in by the Chinese government, raised solely to become an agent. “If you want to save him, you’ll have to arrest him.” Persuaded by her superior, she pursued her older brother, a pro-democracy activist, and arrested him. He was executed the very same day. She did not come to resent her superiors or her country. Instead, she directed her hatred toward the ideology and cause that had changed her brother. From that moment on, she became an expert at hunting down traitors— a perfect instrument of the Chinese state.

Having cast aside her own heart…

Morpheus D. Duvall (Age 32)

Formerly a member of Umbrella’s Research and Development division. He captivated his subordinates and effectively held real power, but after showing signs of acting against the organisation, he was framed and removed from his position. The group responsible for stealing the “T-virus” consists of subordinates who deeply revere Morpheus. The ship, too, was easily seized thanks to their efforts. However, by this point, Morpheus had strayed so far from reason that he was willing to sacrifice even his most trusted followers— turning them into victims of the T-virus…

SCENARIO:

GUN SURVIVOR 4: BIOHAZARD – HEROES NEVER DIE” Scenario

Released in special instalments!
Note: This is from the development stage and differs in parts from the final game.

1. Still Shot

Bruce: “The T-virus developed by the international corporation Umbrella leaked, wiping out the Midwestern American town of Raccoon City. Even so, Umbrella continued its research in secret… and one horrifying incident after another followed.

2. Atlantic Ocean – Night

A luxury cruise ship cuts through the waves across the ocean.

3. Main Title

GUN SURVIVOR 4: BIOHAZARD”

4. Same – Roof Deck (Night)

In the darkness, with zombies roaming, Bruce McGivern (27) moves forward.

Bruce (voice-over): “Three days ago, a large quantity of the T-virus was stolen from Umbrella’s Paris research facility. Then yesterday, a luxury cruise ship owned by Umbrella was hijacked… and the T-virus was released throughout the ship.”

As he reaches the deck, a beautifully decorated handgun is suddenly pointed at his face. It’s Morpheus D. Duvall (32). He has a cool, handsome face, but a disproportionately large, solid build.

Morpheus (smirking): “Why is it that American intelligence agents always prefer such crude-looking guns?” Without warning, he spins and kicks— sending Bruce flying. Bruce crashes to the ground, his handgun slipping from his grasp and skidding across the floor.

Bruce: “Morpheus…” “What are you planning to do with the T-virus you stole?”

Morpheus: “If you want to know… go find out in hell!”

At that moment, a figure shifts briefly in the shadows—a dragon tattoo is visible on their shoulder. Just as Morpheus is about to pull the trigger on Bruce— the hidden figure pulls the pin from a grenade and throws it. Bruce reacts instantly, rolling across the floor to escape. Morpheus is caught in the blast, clutching his abdomen. He drops through a hole blown open in the deck and disappears below. Bruce gets to his feet and turns back— but the mysterious figure is already gone.

(Opening movie ends — gameplay begins)

Bruce retrieves his fallen gun, jumps down through the hole in the deck after Duvall and begins searching. Fighting off attacking zombies, he advances. Along the way, he obtains a file. It reveals:

  1. Morpheus, having been dismissed from Umbrella, harbours intense hatred toward the company.

  2. He has an abnormal obsession with beauty—surrounding himself with beautiful things and desiring to transform himself into a more beautiful being.

6. Spiral Staircase Hall – Night

In the darkness, a radio call comes in. Fade in.

Bruce: “Five billion dollars!?”

Superior (over radio): “That’s the deadline—by the end of tomorrow. Before then, recover the T-virus from Morpheus at any cost—”

Suddenly, a figure appears behind Bruce and attacks using kung fu. It’s an extraordinarily beautiful Chinese woman—Fong Ling (25). The radio is knocked from Bruce’s hand and shatters on the floor. Bruce notices the dragon tattoo on her shoulder.

Bruce: “Stop! You’re the one who helped me earlier, right? That tattoo—Chinese State Security.”

Her kick lands cleanly on his jaw, sending him flying. She presses a gun to his face.

Fong Ling: “Spies don’t have allies. Never let your guard down, Bruce McGivern.”

Bruce: “So you’ve already looked me up… That means the Chinese government’s been threatened by Morpheus too.”

Bruce sweeps her leg and knocks her down, pinning her.

Bruce: “Even if we can’t work together, let’s at least stay out of each other’s way.”

In an instant, Fong Ling grabs his arm and flips him over—and somehow, she’s already taken his gun. Showing it off casually—

Fong Ling:
“Fong Ling. That’s my name. I’ll take care of Morpheus—so you go back to your country.

She smirks, tosses his gun back to him, and walks away.

Bruce (watching her leave): “Careful… I might start falling for you, crossing borders and all.”

Bruce resumes his search. He passes through the living quarters and eventually reaches a warehouse.

7. Warehouse

Bruce enters and finds a valve handle, reaching to pick it up— Suddenly, with a loud crash, the wall behind him bursts open, and a grotesque hand thrusts through. Bruce is blown back. A collapsing shelf traps his leg. The valve handle rolls across the floor. A hand reaches down and picks it up— it’s Fong Ling.

Fong Ling: “Oh? You still haven’t gone back home? Thanks for the effort—I’ll be taking this.”

Bruce: “Hey, that’s not fair! Fong Ling—!”
(He struggles, unable to move with his leg trapped.)

Fong Ling exits the warehouse.

Character switches to Fong Ling. Gameplay continues.

8. Pool

Fong Ling arrives and sets the valve handle, preparing to turn it.

[Event 3 Begins] Bruce runs in.

Bruce: “Man… you really don’t miss a trick, do you?”

Fong Ling: “I’m just smarter than you.” (continues turning the valve)

9. Monitor Room (Interior)

The scene is displayed on a monitor. A groan is heard, and blood drips onto the control panel.

It’s Morpheus. Holding his wounded abdomen—

Morpheus (groaning): “You filthy rat… die!” (presses a switch)

10. Monitor Room

At the same time, a shutter begins to rise— a Hunter emerges.

Bruce: “Hurry up, Fong Ling!”

Character switches to Bruce.
He must hold off the Hunter until Fong Ling opens the door using the valve. When the door opens—

Fong Ling: “I’ll go on ahead.” (jumps through the doorway)

Bruce: “Hey—don’t leave me behind again!” (chases after her)

11. Monitor Room

Morpheus slams his fist against the control panel in frustration. His abdominal wound is worsening; he drops to his knees.

Morpheus: “I… I won’t die…”

He pulls out a syringe from his inner pocket and plunges it into his arm. Writhing in agony on the floor, his body rapidly begins to transform.

Bruce continues his search and obtains a file:

  • Umbrella’s development division combined the T-virus and G-virus to create a new bioweapon.

  • This creature possesses overwhelming offensive power and can generate high-voltage electricity from within its body.

  • Ordinary bullets are completely ineffective against it.

  • Unlike previous creatures, its appearance is not grotesque.

13. Presentation Room

Bruce enters. From outside, the sound of heels echoes: clack… clack… clack…

Bruce: “?” (turns toward the door)

A pair of long, elegant legs in high heels approach— BAM! The door bursts open. A tall, glamorous woman—nearly 2 meters in height—appears. (T-Woman) — Morpheus’s transformed form. Electric currents crackle across her body. In the next instant, one of her arms swells, her claws elongate unnaturally, and she charges at Bruce. The claws slash through the air, sending him flying. He slams hard into the wall. She grabs his throat and lifts him off the ground.

T-Woman: “Still using that clumsy gun, I see… Bruce.”

Bruce: “!? Morpheus…”

Still being held, Bruce fires into her abdomen—but just before the bullets make contact, an electric discharge shatters them into pieces. Her body remains completely unharmed.

T-Woman: “Guns won’t work on me. Hohohoho!”

She slams him to the floor and attacks again.

Bullets are useless against T-Woman. The only option is to run. Bruce escapes and continues from outside the presentation room.

14. Engine Room – Exterior (Night)

As Bruce approaches, T-Woman reappears and begins pursuing him again. However, Door A to the engine room is locked from the inside. T-Woman appears down the corridor. In a panic, Bruce shuts Door B in front of him. T-Woman pounds violently against Door B, trying to break it down. Fong Ling runs up.

Fong Ling: “What is that!?”

Bruce: “No time to explain! Get in through that vent and unlock the door from the inside!”

Fong Ling climbs onto Bruce’s shoulders.

Bruce: “(grimaces) …”

She enters through the ventilation shaft.

Inside, Fong Ling drops to the floor.

Character switches to Fong Ling — time attack section.

To open the door, she must find a key item. A diamond is in the corner of the room— but picking it up triggers the appearance of a Hunter. She must defeat it and unlock Door A within the time limit.

If she fails: T-Woman breaks through Door B and kills Bruce → Game Over

If she succeeds:

15. Engine Room – Interior

Just as T-Woman breaks through Door B, Bruce rushes inside. Together, they slam Door A shut.

T-Woman pounds violently on it, but eventually the noise stops—she gives up. Bruce and Fong Ling cautiously open the door and step out.

Fong Ling: “How many times is it now that I’ve saved you?”

Bruce: “Maybe you’ve got a thing for me.”

Fong Ling: “Don-gua (冬瓜: useless man). Quiet.”

Bruce: “Looks like she finally gave up…”

Bruce: “Wait—what does ‘Don-gua’ mean?”

Fong Ling (after a brief pause): “It means… a good man.” (runs off with a smirk)

Bruce resumes his search, collecting items and files in crew quarters and other areas. He continues upward and reaches the helm.

16. Bridge

Suddenly, alarm sirens blare.

Bruce: “What!?”

He rushes in—Fong Ling is there.

Bruce: “What’s going on!?”

Fong Ling: “That!” (points outside the window)

Ahead, a sheer cliff looms—the ship is heading straight toward it.

Bruce: “You’ve got to be kidding!”

He tries to turn the wheel— it won’t budge.

Bruce: “Damn it!”

The cliff rapidly approaches.

Fong Ling: “We have to get out of here!”

She runs for the deck— but zombies block the doorway.

Bruce: “Go on ahead!”

Fong Ling escapes to the deck. Bruce tries to follow but is blocked by a horde of zombies.

After fighting through them, Bruce exits—

17. Deck

Bruce bursts outside. An unfinished Tyrant is closing in on Fong Ling. From its monstrous arm, it’s clear—this is the same creature that attacked Bruce in the warehouse. The cliff is dangerously close.

Bruce: “I’ll hold it off—go after Morpheus!”

Fong Ling: “Got it!”

Bruce: “Come on then! I’ll pay you back for earlier!”

Boss battle — time attack.
If not defeated in time, the ship crashes into the cliff → Game Over

After a fierce battle, Bruce defeats the Tyrant—

18. Atlantic Ocean – Night

Bruce runs out onto the deck. Ahead—an island. On it stands a structure resembling an Umbrella facility (a water tower). He dives into the sea. Moments later, the ship crashes into the cliff— exploding in flames.

19. Island (Night)

Bruce washes ashore near the water tower. On the ground—claw marks left by T-Woman.

Bruce (muttering): “Morpheus…”

Bruce begins exploring. As he moves through the facility, he finds journals and files left behind by the staff who once worked there. From them, he learns that this place was an Umbrella waste disposal facility, once overseen by Morpheus. Due to poor management, the T-virus leaked about a month ago. Many of the staff died, and the survivors fled in panic.

21. Communications Room

Bruce enters. The communication system is still operational. He contacts his superior.

Superior (over comms): “Morpheus has threatened that if his demands aren’t met, he’ll launch missiles loaded with the T-virus at major cities in the United States. The Chinese government, which was also being threatened, has apparently given in and agreed to pay five billion dollars.”

Bruce: “What!? Then Fong Ling—”

Superior: “Bruce… you’ve made contact with Fong Ling?”

Bruce: “Yes… (to himself) But if China has already given in to Morpheus’s demands…”

Superior: “In any case, our country will not yield to his threats. Everything now rests on you. I’m counting on you.”

Bruce cuts the transmission and stands there, deep in thought.

Bruce (muttering): “Fong Ling…”

22. Waterway

Fong Ling hides, holding her breath. A Pluto (creature) stops and listens, scanning the area—but fails to notice her and walks away. Fong Ling glances at it.

Character switches to Fong Ling. Gameplay resumes.

23. Helipad (Night)

As Fong Ling arrives, a beam of light shines down from above, illuminating her. The light intensifies and narrows. Bruce runs in, grabs her, and spins away.

Fong Ling: “Bruce!”

At that instant, a laser fires down from above, striking the ground at their feet. The laser relentlessly tracks them as they flee, and the two dive into the control room.

24. Outer Space

A military satellite bearing the Chinese flag fires a laser toward Earth.

25. Island – Another Area (Night)

The night sky.

26. Central Control Room (Night)

The two hide in a shadow where the laser cannot reach. Suddenly, Bruce pins Fong Ling down, draws a knife, and thrusts it toward the tattoo on her shoulder.

Fong Ling: “What are you doing!?”

Holding her down as she struggles, Bruce drives the knife in. Fong Ling grimaces in pain. Bruce digs out a small, blood-covered transmitter. Fong Ling stares in shock. Bruce throws it to the floor and crushes it underfoot. At the same time, the laser attack stops.

Bruce: “Your boss was tracking your position with this the whole time.”

He wraps her shoulder wound with a handkerchief.

Bruce: “Spies are just expendable pawns in the end. So what are you going to do now?”

Fong Ling: “I’m continuing the mission.”

Bruce: “…!?”

Fong Ling: “Even if they pay the five billion, there’s no guarantee Morpheus won’t launch the missiles. If that happens… the people of China—”

She turns back.

Fong Ling: “Oh, right. This time, you saved me. I suppose I should at least thank you.”

Bruce: “Don’t mention it. After all… I’m just a ‘Don-gua’—a useless man.”

Bruce heads down the stairs toward the underground. Fong Ling considers correcting him… but decides not to.

Character switches to Bruce.
He follows Fong Ling, jumping down and continuing the search. He eventually finds a file:

  • About 100 meters beneath the waters offshore lies an Umbrella biosphere facility, containing a missile silo.

  • Morpheus’s objective is revealed:
Once he obtains ten billion dollars, he plans to gather mercenaries from around the world and establish a military state deep in Africa. Using that power and the T-virus, he intends to destroy Umbrella, threaten nations worldwide, and operate from the shadows as a global fixer.

27. Elevator Entrance

Bruce arrives. A Pluto appears and attacks. After defeating it— Fong Ling runs up.

Bruce: “The missiles are down below. (checks watch) We’re almost out of time—let’s go!”

The elevator doors open, and they step inside.

28. Elevator Gondola (Night)

The gondola begins descending. Outside, the underwater biosphere is illuminated. After a while, the gondola suddenly jolts to a stop. The lights go out. The next moment—impact from above. The T-Woman lands on the roof.

Bruce: “Morpheus!”

They fire upward, but— The T-Woman calmly approaches the elevator cables.

T-Woman: “You’re both going to die here!”

Their bullets have no effect. With swift slashes, she cuts into the cables. The wires begin snapping one after another— The gondola plummets downward at tremendous speed. The T-Woman leaps away, escaping along the cables. Her voice echoes through the shaft.

The elevator falls. Bruce tries to hit the emergency brake, but the violent shaking makes it difficult. Finally—he manages to press it. The emergency brake activates, barely stopping the fall. Bruce and Fong Ling force the door open— they’re stuck partway at the 3rd floor of the biosphere.

Bruce: “Get out, Fong Ling!”

He pushes her up first. As she climbs out, the elevator jolts and drops slightly.

Fong Ling: “Hurry, Bruce!” (reaching out desperately)

But it’s too late. The gondola plunges into the depths with Bruce still inside.

Fong Ling: “Bruce!”

Far below, it crashes with a deafening impact.

Fong Ling: “BRUCE!”

Character switches to Fong Ling.
She begins exploring from Biosphere 3F down to 1F.

29. Communications Room

Fong Ling enters. Suddenly, an alarm blares.

Announcement: “The missile launch system has been activated. All personnel, evacuate the silo immediately. (repeats)”

She rushes to a nearby monitor. The missile silo is displayed— a missile is rising into position.

Fong Ling: “!”

At that moment, a dark shadow creeps up behind her… The silhouette of the T-Woman looms over the camera.

Fong Ling: “Aah!”

Her scream echoes—

30. Abyss – Inside the Crushed Elevator

Bruce regains consciousness. He staggers to his feet.

Bruce: “Fong Ling…”

He opens the elevator hall door and steps outside.

Character switches to Bruce. Gameplay resumes.

Bruce heads toward Morpheus’s room.

Along the way, he finds a file:

  • A final weapon has been developed—one capable of dealing decisive damage to bioweapons created from the T-virus and G-virus.

  • It is said to be located somewhere within the biosphere.

Using this clue, Bruce searches for it—and finds it. A heavy storage hatch slowly opens, revealing the weapon, dimly gleaming. He resumes his advance and reaches Morpheus’s room— But neither of them is there.

31. Morpheus’s Room

Bruce enters.

T-Woman (voice): “So you’re still alive, Bruce. You’re persistent.”

Startled, he looks—a monitor shows a control room inside a massive warehouse. On it: the T-Woman… and Fong Ling, unconscious.

Bruce: “Fong Ling! You bastard!”

Alarms blare.

Announcement: “Missile launch preparations have reached the final stage.”

T-Woman: “Hohohoho!”

Bruce: “Hang on, Fong Ling—I’m coming!”

The screen cuts out. Bruce raises the final weapon again.

He heads to the adjacent massive warehouse.

32. Massive Warehouse

Bruce enters. The T-Woman stands in his way. High above, Fong Ling lies unconscious.

T-Woman: “Bruce… coming to save a disposable pawn? You’re unfit to be an agent.”

Bruce: “Maybe…”

He readies the final weapon.

Boss battle: T-Woman

After an intense fight, she lets out a scream and collapses.

33. (Control Room Area)

Bruce rushes to Fong Ling.

Bruce: “Fong Ling!”

He lifts her up.

Fong Ling: “Why did you come to save me? I told you to go to the missile…”

Bruce: “A Don-gua doesn’t abandon a woman.”

At that moment—

Announcement: “Less than ten minutes until missile launch. (repeats)”

Bruce: “Damn it! We’ve got to hurry!”

Bruce (looking at controls): “The path to the missile silo is complicated…”

Fong Ling: “I’ll guide you using this monitor.”

Bruce: “Got it. I’m counting on you.”

Bruce runs back into the warehouse and heads for the missile silo passage. After he leaves, the fallen T-Woman begins to mutate— crawling after him.

Guided by Fong Ling over comms, Bruce must reach the missile silo within the time limit (time attack). If he backtracks, the second form will attack—so he must keep moving. At the silo entrance, the timer ends. The second form catches up. A claw—presumably Morpheus—appears before Bruce.

Bruce: “You just won’t quit, will you!?”

The second form attacks.

Boss battle: Second Form

After defeating it— The creature thrashes in agony, releasing massive electrical discharges.

Bruce: “You’re a persistent bastard… Take that missile with you straight to hell!”

Bruce fires at it. As a massive explosion begins to build— Cut to Bruce and Fong Ling, the screen flooding with light…

To be continued in the actual game…

CREATURE:

Zombie:

Having lost all reason and cognitive ability, they wander in search of human flesh, driven by an overwhelming hunger. Some retain faint traces of their memories from when they were alive, occasionally revealing fragments of their former behaviour.

Hunter (Elite Type):

A specially adjusted specimen—essentially an “elite”—prepared for demonstration purposes. Compared to conventional Hunters, it is faster and possesses greater attack power.

Tyrant-091 (t+G Virus Type):

An experimental organism modified using a newly developed virus (a combination of the T-virus and G-virus). It attacks with a massive arm that lashes like a whip, striking with speed and agility. Its appearance is partially collapsed, with vital organs exposed where the outer skin has not properly formed.

Nautilus + Torpedo Kid (Waterway Organism):

Abnormally proliferating mainly in underground waterways. Their body tissue is extremely fragile— even slight stimulation can cause them to burst, scattering highly acidic bodily fluids. Attempting to approach the main host that produces them will provoke an attack from these flesh-like masses.

Glimmer (Hunter-Type Variant):

A medium-sized creature with compound eyes like those of arthropods, living in groups in the darkness. Timid by nature, it hides when approached but will attack the moment it senses an opening. Based on its form, it is theorized to be a type of “Hunter,” though details are still under investigation.

Pluto:

A test subject used for reaction studies with visual input completely removed. Its eyes were surgically removed, and several mutation viruses were administered, resulting in abnormally heightened hearing. Due to uncontrolled muscle development, it became unmanageable and was scheduled for disposal— but it killed five guards and escaped.

Halbert + Queen:

Displays behaviour similar to ants or bees that operate in colonies. A massive host produces tens of thousands of “worker” or “guard” organisms over its lifetime.

T-Women:

There exists a theory of genetically fusing the T-virus with its antibody, the G-virus, to grant electrical properties. Observations of Test Subject 091 (Tyrant 091) showed many incomplete aspects, but with the newly developed Test Subject 092, the original goal—generation of high-voltage electricity—has finally been achieved. Subjects injected with this are expected to generate an electromagnetic barrier, capable of nullifying all physical impacts.

Morpheus – First Form (Mutated State):

After being subjected to a charged-particle rifle, physical destruction was induced at the genetic level, causing this first form to go berserk. Only the deep-seated hatred etched into Morpheus’s mind continues to drive his massive, corpse-like body.

COLUMN:

Nice to meet you! Thank you very much for purchasing Gun Survivor 4. (You all bought it, right? Of course you did.) My name is Gaku, and I was responsible for programming and concept ideas for many of the game’s more unusual creatures. Over four instalments, I’ll be introducing strategies for dealing with these creatures, along with some insight from the development side.
Hope you enjoy!

Hunter Strategy

Hunters have this oddly fish-like face, but don’t let that fool you—they’re quick, agile, and pack a serious punch, making them one of the first major hurdles early in the game.

The key strategy is simple: avoid getting surrounded and rely heavily on Emergency Evasion to dodge their attacks. Most of their attacks are wide and easy to read, so even reacting after you see them is enough to dodge—no need for frantic button mashing. Seriously, Emergency Evasion is essential throughout the entire game, so make sure you master it. Their weak point is inside the mouth—hit it consistently, and even on Extreme difficulty you can take one down with about 10 handgun shots. Also, if you damage their legs, they’ll start limping like zombies, so try that when you have the chance. Personally, I love the way they die—throwing one arm up like “Nooo!”—and their sometimes underwhelming death cries crack me up.

Tyrant 091 Strategy

Tyrant 091 really stands out with its huge mouth and crooked teeth. It uses powerful and varied attacks, but like the Hunter, its movements are large and readable—so if you’ve mastered evasion, it’s not too bad. Look for openings, circle behind it, and attack the exposed organ on its back. If it drops to one knee and kind of wobbles (“o-yoyoyo…”), that’s your chance to deal heavy damage. If you’re struggling on Extreme, try baiting its big moves—like jump attacks—then move behind it and strike. This can significantly reduce the time needed.

Fun fact: its face also takes slightly more damage than usual.

Glimmer (aka “Babysitting Frog”) Strategy

Those bumps on its back? They’re not eggs—they’re actually eyes. This enemy is incredibly annoying. If you try to run past it, it spits body fluid at you. If you try to fight it, your shots often miss. Here’s the trick:

  • Stay just outside its attack range (about 5 meters)

  • Land at least one hit to make it thrash around

Once it’s flailing, it becomes much easier to either escape or finish it off. To kill it:

  • Wait until it gets back up

  • Then hit it with a Magnum or a close-range shotgun blast

While it’s thrashing, it’s invincible, so don’t waste ammo. Also, when its eyes glow red and it pauses briefly— that’s your warning it’s about to leap at you. At the section where eight Glimmers appear at once, don’t hold back—use the grenade launcher.

…That said, I usually just brute-force my way through 😅

Pluto Strategy

This enemy goes by many nicknames—“fatty,” “meat lump,” “chubby kid”— but its official name is Pluto. As noted in the files, Pluto is blind and relies entirely on sound.

Strategy:

  • Move quietly (sneak-walking at all times)

  • Keep at least ~8 meters distance

  • When it’s scanning around, don’t move or attack

Stick to this, and carefully aim at the top of its head with a silenced weapon—you can take it down with relatively few bullets.

If it notices you…
it will sprint after you at full speed—so just run for your life 😄

Sometimes it will trip and fall—
that’s your chance to attack or reset your position.

If you have plenty of ammo (Magnum, grenades, shotgun), you can fight it head-on… but good luck.

Fun trivia:
Pluto doesn’t actually see you as an enemy. It thinks, “Oh! A little kitty! Yay, I’m gonna catch it!”

If your health drops below 25%, it will actually try to pick you up like it’s babysitting you.

If you’re into that kind of thing… go ahead and enjoy 😅 Sweet dreams…

Morpheus (First Form) Strategy

Now for Morpheus’s first form— a high-heel-wearing “sexy monster” created by the mysterious power of the virus. If you’re struggling with the relentless claw combos—or distracted by… other things—read on 😏 First, the infamous follow-up claw attack after you’re knocked down:
you can dodge it easily with Emergency Evasion if you watch carefully.

Tip: Press evade the moment Morpheus briefly turns their back. Next, the acrobatic attacks (backflips, front flips, aerial strikes): Instead of dodging, attack head-on. If you deal damage mid-air, Morpheus will always fall— creating a huge opening for follow-up damage. During electric attacks, calmly hide behind pillars and you can avoid damage entirely.

Fun behind-the-scenes note – Originally, one designer said:
“Wouldn’t a female Tyrant as the final boss be fresh?”

And the scenario writer replied: “Then let’s make them… a drag queen!”

…And that’s how Morpheus turned out.

Honestly, we were a little nervous about how players would react 😅

Final Boss Strategy

During development, someone said:

“It’s a gun game—simple, whack-a-mole-style gameplay is the most fun.”

…And somehow, this enemy was the result.

Strategy:

  • Always aim for the head

  • Use either:

    • Assault rifle

    • Magnum

    • Automatic handgun

If it gets too close, switch to shotgun or Magnum to push it back. Grenades aren’t very effective here. Follow this, and the rest is honestly… luck. Personally, I love the scene where Bruce gets smashed like a fly. If you haven’t seen it yet, go ahead and get crushed—it’s great stress relief 😄 (There are actually 3 different ways to get squashed!)

Closing

Well, that’s all for this short series! I hope these strategies were helpful. Thanks for sticking with me! Now go enjoy the rest of Gun Survivor 4! —Gaku
