HUNK
Legendary leader of the U.S.S Alpha Team, the individual with the code name: HUNK also went by the nickname The Grim Reaper. HUNK’s combat abilities were second to known and as one of the survivors of the Raccoon City incident after completing his mission and escaping with the G-Virus, his long term status was secured.
Not much is known of HUNK’s true past, as with many U.S.S members, their history is either erased or sworn to secrecy. The earliest recording of HUNK’s life came in 1996 when he completed his Umbrella training on Rockfort Island – the proverbial “home” of the U.S.S. HUNK excelled with this training which would have included B.O.W combat but also early testing of what would become his signature style – CQC or closed quarters combat.
Following his training, HUNK was initiated into the U.S.S and rose to the position of leader of the Alpha Team. During this rise, he developed a personal rivalry with U.B.C.S member, Nicholai Ginoveaf despite being in separate paramilitary units.
In 1998 HUNK’s Alpha Team were called into Raccoon City in order to infiltrate William’s Birkin’s Underground Laboratory and acquire a sample of the G-Virus. Due to Birkin’s planned defection to the US Government, Umbrella HQ were left with little choice but to send in HUNK and his team.
On 22 September 1998, HUNK and Alpha Team successfully completed the first half of their mission and requested a G-sample from Birkin. He declined and ultimately was shot by an Alpha Team member. The Team acquired a suitcase holding both t and G-Virus samples and promptly left the laboratory.
Whilst on their way back to the rendezvous point in the sewers, the dying Birkin had injected himself with the G-Virus becoming the monster, G. This new ultimate weapon, hunted down and killed every member of Alpha Team with the exception of HUNK. Only he survived. A common occurrence in missions. HUNK was merely knocked out by G and after coming around had acquired the G-sample himself. He contacted NightHawk – his helicopter pilot and arranged for a pick up at the R.P.D.
Battling through the now fully infected Raccoon City, on 30 September 1998, HUNK evaded the undead and other monsters and escaped the city and the G-Virus was back in teh hands of Umbrella.
HUNK then transported the G-sample to the Loire Valley in France as per his order where it was received by Christine Henri and Umbrella Europe where it would later go on to develop the TG Virus.
His last known mission for Umbrella was on the order of Alfred Ashford, commander of Rockfort Island. Fearing a spy within his ranks on the island, Alfred requested the transport of a Tyrant T-103 mass produced model (bat number T-078) from the Antarctica Terminal to Rockfort. HUNK completed this mission with relative ease although he expressed some dissatisfaction that he had not been told of the contents of the cargo he and his new team were transporting.
HUNK’s whereabouts and employment status post the dissolution of Umbrella in 2003 are unknown.
