Lepotica

A Lepotica is a human infected with the C-Virus reborn at the end of its mutation cycle as a Complete Mutation Species. Its name is derived from the term ‘woman of beauty’ in Eastern European language. The final creature is severely mutated and extremely bloated. Its body is riddled with numerous sarcomas that are reminiscent of female mammary glands. Each one of these sacs contain a pore that can expel a gaseous, airborne form of the C-Virus. Any human or animal that breathes in this toxin will regress into a C-Zombie within minutes. In just a single subject, the Lepotica can expel gas up to a radius of 3 miles or 4.8 kilometres.

Unlike a traditional zombie infection, which is spread via bite or contact with contaminated blood, this creature turns the virus into an airborne agent, thus creating a contaminant that is harder to avoid. Anyone breathing in this toxin will regress into a C-Zombie within minutes, literally rotting from the inside out.

The Lepotica is also larger than an average human and has a sinewy, almost greasy skin texture, and its flesh is grey with a pinkish tone. Its feminine appearance is down to Simmons using leftover research remnants and the variant strain C-Virus from Project Ada where genetic manipulation took place to preserve the female aspect of the original host. The creature has a horribly disfigured face and at first glance may look as though it is smiling, but this is because its facial muscles have retracted, resulting in a permanent sneer. Some researchers have speculated that the creature is actually in suffering. When it breathes heavily, it makes a distorted combination of sounds that can be misinterpreted as shrieking laughter. It rarely physically attacks a target, but when in close proximity its head will split apart into three segments to reveal a long tongue it will use to shove down the target’s throat. But despite these traits, the Lepotica is not designed for combat, but instead to spread the gaseous form of the C-Virus and is blessed with these defence mechanisms solely to allow it to survive long enough to do so. Once a Lepotica has successfully infected its target area, it is said to be programmed to end its own life. This is said to be a precautionary measure to ensure a Lepotica cannot spread the virus beyond a targeted area and cause an unintentional biohazard.

The prototype for the completed Lepotica was test subject C-16, otherwise known as Nanan Yoshihara who was injected with the C-Virus as part of a clandestine field test at Marhawa Academy. The experiment involved Carla Radames collecting data from encounters between C-16 and her targets. Because of this, Lepotica is thought to be one of the first, if not the first, completed CMS. Documents show that data collected from the Marhawa test confirm it was actually Carla and Neo-Umbrella who perfected the final product. But because Carla was still feigning allegiance to Derek Simmons at that time, its final development data was shared with The Family and Simmons was able to use these creatures to spur the 2013 Tall Oaks outbreak.

Data from the Lepotica would also be applied to Neo-Umbrella’s ultimate weapon; Haos. This would enable the creature to disperse a C-Virus airborne strain far more potent over extreme distance and potentially spread the virus on a global scale.
