Mina Gere

Born 1st April 1987, Mina showed an aptitude for computers from an early age. At the age of 6 she was given her first computer and immediately excelled with its programs. A decade later on her 16th birthday, Gere undertook an elaborate April Fools hoax and hacked multiple secure security systems and added her school principle to the F.B.I’s most wanted list. 

For this offence, she was given jail time and it can be assumed she spent an entire year behind bars, where on her 17th birthday she was told that he must either serve her government or stay in prison. She decided to serve.

Mina then joined the Marines where she excelled in edged weapons and small arms. Her skills were picked up by the higher-up’s and placed Mina on an experimental space combat unit where she undertook basic astronaut training. Following the successful completion of she joined with the bioweapon joint task force within the government, presumably the Anti-Umbrella Pursuit & Investigation Team.

However, when the B.S.A.A were formed under the United Nations, Mina sought a transfer in 2009 and was accepted. Her first mission was a space mission to the Joint Nations Space Station.

This mission proved to be eye opening for Mina. Upon docking with the space station, she found the facility empty and devoid of life. It was supposed to be a research station where black market virus’ could be safely investigated. Mina investigated further, discovering a hydrogen leak on board but nominal power. She headed to the control room where she was attacked by a Licker B.O.W. Her superior skills meant she was able to decapitate the beast.

Pressing ahead, Gere came across the remains of the crew, some dead, some succumbed to the T-Virus as floating zombies. They posed little threat floating in space but clearly something was up. Gere accessed the researcher, Dr. Omre’s notes where she discovered the team had been researching the effects of the cosmically enhanced T-Virus on cnidaria creatures. She also discovered that the G-Virus had also undergone similar experiementation with cosmic radiation, but the rocket shuttle with that sample had left the space station already.

Mina then headed to the depolyment bay where she encountered the Hydra, the T-Virus experiment on the cnidara. The creature was huge, filling the room with large tentacle like appendages. Mina fired against the monster to escape before encountering more zombies. Realising that she could not outrun or survive the mission much longer, Mina set up an E.M.P and fired herself out of the airlock. She was picked up by her team and the space station imploded.

A few days after this mission, Mina was deployed to Übelandia where she was teamed up with famed B.S.A.A agent, Holiday Sugarman following reports of biological weapons being used in the country. Holiday leads the team with Mina into the borderland between Übelandia and Urador where a vast number of Zombies are causing havoc. Holiday showcases his experience and neutralises the threat before leaving to the Giesel “casa” estate with Mina.

Holiday and Mina arrive at the estate and are met by Neuermann Giesel, the CEO’s Fritz Giesel, supposed nephew. He explains that the CEO has not been seen for many years. The B.S.A.A team are lead into the greenhouse where a large orchid blooms. Here, the horrors of Giesel are unleashed when the orchid turns out to be a B.O.W! Neuermann flees and unleashes Eliminator monkeys as well as the Übersoldat, a modified T-103 Tyrant. Using her experience, Mina unleashes everything she has against the Tyrant, noting that it appears to be much weaker than other variants on record. Indeed, after one grenade and hit, the Tyrant’s limiter is reached and undergoes a mutation into the R form. Mina orders the team to fire at the Tyrant’s head whilst she leaps and stabs deep into the creature’s exposed heart on its back. This move proved to be fatal ending the Tyrant swiftly.

Holiday and Mina are able to down more creatures together as they pursue Giesel himself in the compound. Holiday begins to take the mission very personally indeed but can only watch on as Neuermann flees the compound in a light aircraft. 

The B.S.A.A are able to track it to Ziggurat tunnels in neighbouring Urabat and a vast underground complex where Hunters and Überhounds were being developed. After infiltrating the facility, Mina and her team focus on the B.O.Ws, giving Holiday the time to track down and confront Neurerman once and for all.

As Sugarman searches for Giesel, Mina battles numerous Überhunds. However, upon reaching the control room she notes from the CCTV that there are dozens of B.O.Ws seemingly just waiting for victims but also all over Übelandia. Mina works out that the monsters all have a cranial implant embedded within them and it stems from the Ziggurat compound itself. Giesel is able to control the creatures remotely and deduces that the explosives within the facility need to be disarmed to create a permanent “no-go” order to them. If it is not, the creatures will be free to run free.

Panicking against the timer, Gere is unable to change the setting, but does enough to cause a massive electrical surge to all the B.O.W implants, blowing off the heads of hundreds of B.O.Ws. The power unit exploded causing a head injury to Mina. Holiday is able to rescue her and defeat Giesel in the chaos.

The next day, Holiday returns to base to check on the progress of his partner, Mina Gere who is recovering after the mission. He learns that the real Giesel is still alive but has donated to the people of Übelandia.
