Penamstan

Penamstan is a south-central Asian country that has a land border with the People’s Republic of China. The country itself is landlocked and mainly desert. Its architecture is typical for the region with historical monuments and buildings being accommodated with civilian dwellings.

The country was the scene of a violent and bloody civil war in 2000 – a war so intense that the United Nations considered the application of military aid. However, taking unilateral steps the United States Government sent in their own troops to the battle-zone.

The deployed troops were led by the later to be appointed Secretary Wilson, commanding from a mobile facility. During a return from action, two helicopters were shot down by insurgents. Keen to rescue any survivors, the squadron, Mad Dogs – led by Jason disobeyed Wilson and landed his troop on the ground.

It was here after escaping into a building that it was revealed to Jason and the Mad Dogs that Panemstan was also the scene of a biohazard outbreak. Zombies were being used as part of the civil war with human guinea-pigs testing out a Tricell developed inhibitor chip. Despite their army training skills, the Mad Dogs were outnumbered by the undead and all were infected with the t-Virus.

After their rescue, the Mad Dogs were forced into compliance with Tricell through Secretary Wilson and the involvement of B.O.W’s was swept under the carpet. Jason was given the title “the hero of Penamstan” by the media.

Some time after the incident the civil war slowly came to an end with a provision government installed in the country. Wilson, feareful of China’s every growing interest wished to use the growing friendship between the country and the United States to keep a watchful eye on China for military and financial gain.

The current status of the country is unknown following the 2006 peace and trade accord.
