Western-Style Residence

An unknown and unnamed western-style Mansion that existed in the Arklay Forest. It appears to have been inhabited at some point as both the interior and exterior look well maintained.

This appears to be a private residence and not associated with the Umbrella Corporation. However, in such an area so heavily influenced and dominated by the company, no-one was left untouched.

Following the leak of the T-Virus from the Arklay Facility in May 1998 or even the slow outbreak from the abandoned hospital, this different mansion would become a nexus point of infection. At some point a resident or employee of the home became infected with the virus and became a zombie. This then spread throughout the home infecting everyone inside. However, there appears to have been some foresight by whoever lived at the property, as further contamination outside of the home (other than what was occurring already) appeared minimal at best.

Following the Mansion Incident, Chris Redfield begins to prepare for his departure from Raccoon City and head to Europe. Before he does however, more reports of dead bodies and monster sightings occur in the forest zone. Chris is concerned about this enough to write this in his diary. He decides that before leaving however, he would check out one such report that he knew was near this mansion, perhaps believing their to be a link to Umbrella.

On 17 August 1998 Chris enters into the residence and begins work. To his horror he is greeted with many doors to enters and lots and lots of Zombies. Cerberus, presumably leftovers from the Arklay Facility have also set up camp here, but with his experience with B.O.Ws, they provide no threat. Even a naturally occurring Licker cannot de-rail his investigations. However, Chris uncovers no evidence of Umbrella were involved with this residence and leaves the property and indeed later, Raccoon City.

On 23 September 1998 and family of hikers in the Arklay Forest stumble across the mansion. The family names are unknown but there are two young children and presumably their parents. The pet dog is also present.

They enter the mansion and like Chris before them, are met with hoards of zombies. The family scatter and all hide in the mansion. They are however, able to get an emergency broadcast out to the local police force help, hoping for a rescue.

Thankfully the SOS is picked up by the R.P.D and a squad of police officers head to the residence. Sadly many are instantly killed, but one unnamed officer is able to fight off the zombies, the zombie dogs and even his former comrades that have turned into Zombies already!

Through various doors and paths, the officer is able to locate and rescue all members of the family, including the dog. They all flee from the Residence.
